What we're working on...
March update
In February, we finished up talking about the street (traffic light, stop, go, slow down, etc.) We did a fun activity where the students got to "drive" around the classroom and had to follow my commands while they were driving: alto=stop, espera=wait/slow down, sigue (continue/go). While they were "driving" around, I was "la policía" (the policewoman) that was making sure everyone was driving around safely. It was a lot of fun for them to practice the vocabulary that way! In March, we are going to start talking more about transportation (refer to February update for transportation vocabulary) and different ways to get around. We will try and finish up that unit before Spring Break!

February update
We have been working very hard in Spanish class! We finished our unit about people and places at school. I am so excited to see how much the 2nd graders are starting to use their knowledge of Spanish in class. They are going above and beyond and I can't wait to see what the next few months have in store for us. We are starting our unit about the street and transportation. We will be working on this for the next few weeks.
Here is the vocabulary for the street:
-el semáforo (the stoplight)
-alto (stop)
-espera (slow down)
-sigue (continue/go)
-la calle (the street/road)
-la luz (the light)
-el/la policía (the police)
Here is the vocabulary for transportation:
-el tren (the train)
-el avión (the plane)
-el carro (the car)
-el autobús (the bus)
-la bicicleta (the bicycle)
