What we're working on...
March update
We finished up our unit on toys in February and the students challenged themselves to start writing more sentences in Spanish. They did a great job! We are starting to talk about different things to do and the 4 seasons. They are telling me what they like to do during each season in a variety of drawing and writing activities. It is fun for the students to get the chance to talk about themselves and the things they like to do!
Here is the vocabulary for things to do:
-esquiar (to ski)
-patinar (to skate)
-hacer gymnasia (to do gymnastics)
-pescar (to fish)
Here is the vocabulary for the 4 seasons:
-invierno (winter)
-primavera (spring)
-verano (summer)
-otoño (fall/autumn)

February update
The 3rd graders have been working really hard to challenge themselves in Spanish class. I have been pushing them to do more reading and writing in Spanish and they have impressed me with how much they have learned! They have been using complete sentences in Spanish and telling me the toys they like to play with and about the things they like to do. After our unit on toys, we will start talking about fun things to do. Your child has learned so much and I am going to continue to challenge the students until they reach their goals.
Here is the vocabulary for toys:
-los juguetes (the toys)
-la televisión (the television)
-la radio (the radio)
-los carritos (the toy cars)
-el cartel (the poster)
-la muñeca (the doll)
-el disco compacto (compact disc/CD)
-el lector de discos compactos (CD player)
